Edifying & Equipping Volunteers Assessment

Ephesians 4:11-13 (NIV)

11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,

12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Take a moment to list your adult volunteer leaders. Then identify their obvious or perceived gifts. Next reflect on how you are equipping them to succeed in their current ministry role. Finally, pray about an attainable 6-month goal for that leader’s ministry.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Lord thank you that you have brought, are bringing and will bring adult volunteers who will share the burden and vision that you have given me to reach the adolescents of this community with your love. Help me to honor you by obeying Ephesians 4:11-12 and skillfully equipping my volunteers to do the work of the ministry. Remind me to encourage them as they have encouraged me. Show me their hurts so that I can communicate your love. Help me to show grace and mercy when they fail me, just as you show them to me when I fail you. Give us unity of vision and grant me clarity of communication. AMEN.
