Bob Crawford, FEA President, called to meeting to order @8:30 am.

The June 18, 2013 meeting minutes were review and accepted by membership. The minutes will be posted to the FEA Website at

  1. Presentations:

Pat Crow, with General Services Administration (GSA) gave presentation about all the services GSA Provide to the Federal Agencies in the Central Arkansas area. Pat said GSA was established in 1949 and is basically the landlord of the Building. She also discussed what the responsibilities are for both GSA and the Tenants. Pat passed out a summary of GSA and the services they provide to attending members and will send electronic presentations to all FEA Members.

Jeff Baxley with, Federal Protective Service, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) presented an overview of the “Active Shooter Training”. He encouraged Agencies to consider scheduling this course in order to provide awareness and proper response in the event of Active Shooter. E. Committee Reports:

1) COOP- Chairperson Steve Coop, HUD announced the COOP Training that was scheduled on July 30 – August 1 has been cancelled. There is a class scheduled for August 6 – August 8 which will be held in Oklahoma City, OK.

2) Weather Watch Committee – No new updates

3) CFC – No new updates

4) The initial planning date for the next Mid-Career Retirement Seminar is September 18th from 12noon to 4pm and will be held at Camp Robinson in the General Instruction Building. This seminar will be for FERS retirees only.

5) The dates for next CSRS and FERS Pre-Retirement Seminar is yet to be determined. Angela Uekman recommends not doing it in the February or March 2014 due to budget issues.

6) Bob Crawford announced that we consider putting together a committee for the 2014 Public Service Recognition Week.

7) 2014 FEA Awards Luncheon – Bob Crawford suggested we consider organizing a committee for the next FEA Awards Luncheon for next year 2014.

8) Arkansas FEA Website – Members for this FEA Website will be Eric McKisick, Bob Crawford, and Lisa Breun.

F. Old Business:

1) Need to gather a committee to plan General Meeting for ALL Federal Employees.

2) Bob reminded everyone of the upcoming guest speakers at our FEA meetings and asked for additional volunteers to give presentations.

G. New Business

1) Bob Crawford provided attendees a handout of the email addresses for Federal Agencies and asks that updates be made if necessary.

2) The FEA budget was discussed and handouts provided. Angela Uekman sent a message to members that the budget is a little better this year due in part to fewernominations for FEA Employee of the Year, since FEA pays for nominees’ meals at the annual FEA Awards Banquet.

H. Open for Discussion:

1) Sandy Otto with Federal Highway Administration announced that she will ask her Assistant to conduct the first ALLEmployee meeting in early Fall/Winter in order to remind all Federal Agencies and employees who we are and what we do. A small group will be needed for assistance.

2) Lisa Breun with the Veteran’s Administration offered to do a presentation on “Hiring Veterans.”

3) Pat Crow with GSA offered to send Bob Crawford a list of Federal Agency “heads” in order to ensure all agencies are getting the emails from the FEA Executive Board.
