Keys for Opening Doors

  1. “All you need is love!” goes the famous Beatles lyric but more is needed, wisdom, constancy and endurance when feelings ebb and wane, for we are self centred and look to receive love and all it brings, but find the reciprocal unnaturally demanding.
  1. Good friends and family members will fail us at times; it’s not their responsibility or our spouses or the church’s, to keep us happy. They can’t be sensitive to all your needs so they will hurt and disappoint you at times.
  1. Reject easy keys, all real growth and success comes from discipline, consistently doing the right thing, even if it’s a hard choice and sticking with it irksome. Like fad diets, easy keys, and “cheap grace” ultimately disappoint.
  1. Forgive yourself for our bad choices and forgive others for making decisions that have hurt us. Nursing and rehearsing wrongs closes all manner of important doors.
  1. Recognise that God has given you all the talents, abilities, friends and resources you need to move into your destiny. Don’t cling to the loaves and fishes-break them and pass them about and experience the multiplication effect.
  1. I will bless people today, teach and plant seeds in the lives of those who God sends my way. These actions and prayers will outlive me and have a ripple effect I will only appreciate from the viewpoint of heaven’s glory.
  1. God holds the vital key: He is the one who has the key of David. He opens doors, and no one can shut them; he shuts doors, and no one can open them. Rev 3:7

And he commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes. Mt 14:17

For since we have become one with him in dying as he did, in the same way we shall be one with him by being raised to life as he was. And we know that our old being has been put to death with Christ on his cross, in order that the power of the sinful self might be destroyed, so that we should no longer be the slaves of sin. For when we die, we are set free from the power of sin. Since we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. Rm.6:5-8
