Communication of 13.III.2008:
The Instituto das Comunicações da Guiné-Bissau (ICGB), Bissau, announces implementation of a new National Numbering Plan (NNP) in Guinea-Bissau. The New Numbering Plan (NNP) for fixed networks will be in use as from 6 July 2008.
In the fixed network of the new plan, the current six-digit numbering will be replaced by seven-digit numbering. The number format for calls from abroad (structure of the international E.164-number) will be uniform for both the fixed and the mobile telephone networks +245 XXX XXXX (seven digits) (CC +N(S)N, where CC is Country Code and N(S)N is National (Significant) Number).
The digit “3” will be added in front of existing fixed network N(S)N.
For example, the current fixed network N(S)N = XXX XXX (six digits) will be changed to 3 XXX XXX (seven digits). Some localities, for example Ingoré, currently using N(S)N 33XXXX will change number completely (see table below).
No change will be made to the current seven-digit mobile network numbering plan.
