The timing is approximately correct however we can modify that as we work through each term:
The set plan is an indication of the teaching and learning program for 2014.
There are a substantial number of investigative tasks available for you to use as part of the program however you are encouraged to use good quality investigations of your own.
WEB BASED RESOURCES AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO USE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE SET PLANS
HOTMATHS.COM.AU: This site has many good explanations, worksheets and widgets that can be used for investigations and developing student understanding.
MATHS 300: This site contains many deep investigations that will help students to develop insight. Useful for developing a lesson plan to replace some of the general type of lesson plans listed.
MATHSONLINE: This is a site that will help students to learn topic details. A very useful site.
SUGGESTED PROGRAM MANAGEMENT: The program is designed around the number of lessons planned. Student homework should be used to keep up with the teacher program. This can be varied in negotiations between teacher and student to meet the students’ needs to have a self-paced program. Any discussions in this area must involve parent discussion also.
Each lesson should include a limited investigation, (around 10 minutes) that involves discussion. There are plenty of materials supplied to you however if you have material that you would rather use, go for it, but please send out a description because we may want to use it as well.
