Sub: Regarding Short fall in EPF amount
Sir,
The following EPF issues needs your immediate attention as lot of monetary loss are being faced by many officers :-
1. No EPF contribution was done by BSNL for the period Novenmber 2001 to Feb 2003 for DRs of WBTC due to which we are facing monetary loss on the Principal which was to be deposited during the year plus the interest on that amount for the last 12 years. We request you to kindly provide the same with interest for the DRs appointed between that period.
2. EPF statements were not issued to us by BSNL/EPFO earlier in time. The EPF statement slips having details of 2007-08, 08-09 & 09-10 were issued in the year 2012. BSNL was earlier maintaining centralized EPF from Circle office only which was de-centralised to SSA only on Mar 2008. Since the statement for that period i.e. upto 2007-08 was received during 2012, so most of us applied for transfer of EPF a/c after that. In the meantime, those EPF A/c were made non-operative and no interest given after Mar 2011. Even EPFO rejected those transfer request citing shortfall of Rs. 89 lakhs from BSNL .
3. After that the shortfall issue (due to which members are in deficit by lakhs of rupees), was sorted out most of the members filled new Form-13(R) for transfer of EPF A/c’s and ultimately it materialized in 2013, 2014 and 2015, but the interest for nearly 3 years has not been provided by EPFO to all these members.
4. It is beyond our understanding that since we are serving in the same company and our EPF contribution is also continuous without a break ,due to de-centralisation to SSA ( an internal process) for which new EPF A/c has been opened, why the members need to suffer regarding their most important superannuation benefit .
We request you to take up the issue with the concerned at the earliest.

Total Shortfall = 45000+27720+90000= 1,60,000 ( approx)

· So in 2009-10 (8.5%): 343553 and
· in 2010-11 (9.5%): 376190 which got transferred.
· Pending amount to be received:
· 2011-12: 31035 (8.25%), 2012-13: 34614 (8.5%), 2013-14: 38661 (8.75%)
· Interest loss on Rs. 376190 = Rs 104310 upto 2013-14
· After transfer, Interest loss in 2014-15 (8.75%) : Rs 9127, 2015-16: Rs 9925 taking 8.75%
· Total interest loss= Rs 123362 upto 2015-16
· Due to decentralization of EPF A/c,
· Another EPF A/c no. WB/CA/48583/7 under CAL SSA from Aug 2008 to Nov 2011
· Due to transfer from CAL SSA to GTK SSA,
· Another EPF A/c no. JL/SLG/50013/49 w.e.f Nov 2011
