Dear Parents,

#HotChocFriday

Congratulations to our first Hot Chocolate with the Head winners! Please ask your child how this will work!

Well done to Seren, Scarlett, Gethin and Nina this week.

Y5/6 Football Tournament

A fantastic performance from our Y5/6 football team saw them reach the very edge of glory, only to be denied. Following a strong showing in the group stages, they triumphed in the Semi-Final, largely as a result of Will’s world-class penalty save in the nail-biting shoot out. The final finished 1-0 to Roecliffe. Well done to all involved and thank you to Mrs Royston who not only braved the elements, but washed the kit afterwards!

Hockey and Gardening Clubs

There is a very enjoyable, but under-attended hockey club taking place on Wednesdays after school with All Star Sports Clubs. It is now open to all ages, please come along if you would like to take part. There is also a ‘budding’ gardening club on Tuesdays which would benefit from more members. Both these clubs were requested by children, it would be great to have more coming.

Harvest Festival

This will take place at 2.45pm at Little Ouseburn Church. There will be a short celebration of Autumn and Harvest, with songs, poems, a play and some artwork. Everyone is welcome. Children can be taken home directly from the service. Donations can be taken to the church on Saturday when there will be somewhere there to welcome you or alternatively you can bring it on the day.

Individual School Photos

Just some prior notice, these will be taken on the morning of 7th November.

Pupil Data Sheets

Thank you to everyone who has returned their data sheets. If you haven’t returned yours yet, please do so ASAP so we have up-to-date information for every child. Thank you.

After School Clubs

After school clubs will change slightly after half term. We will let you know once we have finalised the details about what is on offer. The clubs will then be put on ParentPay for you to sign up.

Just a reminder about the clubs we have on this half term.

Day / Club / Who for?
Monday / Game of Actual Life / All
Tuesday / Lego - FULL / All
Wednesday / Hockey / All
Thursday / Gardening / All
Friday / Deconstruction Club - FULL
Football / All
All

Please sign up for the clubs your child would like to attend. We are keen to offer as many opportunities as possible, but we need sufficient numbers to it worthwhile.

Most clubs run from 3.20pm until 4.30pm and start next week.

The cost for all clubs is £3 per session, payable in advance (on Parent Pay please) for the half term. This would be £18 for this half term.

GOAL is £5 per session, payable directly to SCSS. If your child’s letter didn’t make it home, please collect one from the office.

Where clubs are oversubscribed, places will be given on a first come-first served basis on when payment is received. If we cannot fit everyone in, anyone who missed out will be guaranteed a place after half term.
