Task Focus
As a teacher of a VET program you understand models of learning theory and can apply a range of methods to enable learning by your students. In this assessment you need to demonstrate your underpinning knowledge of learning theory, along with that of your subject matter to plan appropriate lessons, organise resources, engage your students with an industry activity and record student progress in their tasks.
Assessment Components.
During the 6 weeks of the diarised program, students are required to:
1. Address the components of each of the following Elements with short comments on at least 1 occasion for each Action.
· Teacher role and responsibilities
· Learning Theory
· Lesson Objectives
· Lesson Preparation
· Conduct lesson
· Classroom Management
· Document learner progress
· Lesson Review
· Storage of Evidence
2. Present a Lesson Plan which includes:
· Objective
· List of resources to be used/prepared
· Overview of content to be covered in the lesson
· Review of the lesson
3. An evaluation of the 6 week program which includes
· A review of your implementation of the program
· An overview of feedback from the students
4. A video of a lesson or a Declaration by your VET Coordinator or other staff member holding the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to confirm the comments provided by you in the journal component.
