DIA Behind The Seen - Plymouth Inside/Out Art Talk

Tuesday, June 6, 2017 Doors open at 6:30pm Presentation from 7:00-8:00pm

PCAC Board Member and DIA Docent Cindy Patrick, and PCAC Director Lisa Howard will present the history and interesting facts about each of the 12 DIA art pieces hosted by our community. A question and answer session will follow; light refreshments will be served. Weather permitting, we will present the 2 PCAC pieces al fresco at the installation sites. This event is free and open to the public. Presentation was designed for ages 11 and up.

Summer Camp!

Digital Photography, Inside/Out 06/26 -06/30/2017

This camp will teach you to use the features on your own camera while learning basic to advanced composition, exposure, focus, and lighting. Student photographers will also be setting up and taking photos to enter into our July photographic exhibit, "From The Inside Out". The contest and exhibit was inspired by Matisse's "Window", which will be displayed at The PCAC from April-July (as part of the Detroit Institute of Arts Inside/Out program!) We will take action, still life and landscape photos, so dress for the weather. We will print final photos and showcase the best in our summer camp art show. Camera with memory chip and/or transfer cord required.

"From The Inside Out"

Community open photo competition and exhibit Month-long exhibit - July 2017

The PCAC will submit a Call For Entries for a July 2017 Main Gallery Exhibit photographic exhibit, "From The Inside Out". The contest and exhibit are inspired "The Window" by Henri Matisse, displayed at the PCAC. There will be Student, Amateur, and Professional categories. DIA Director of Special Projects, Barbara Heller and PCAC Director Lisa Howard will choose winners in each of three categories. All entries will become the July Main Gallery Exhibit at the PCAC. A public art reception will be held mid July (Date TBD). Photos should show both the inside and outside of the space, with the window serving as the transition between. Color or BW photographs, framed in any size 8 x 10 or larger will be accepted. Submission deadline is June 30, 2017. Entry forms available at www.plymoutharts.com after May 15th.

Friday, June 23, 2017 7:00-9:00pm Student-adult artists welcome

DTTN is a monthly, uninstructed, open-life drawing event for artists of all ages to practice drawing the human form. Event will be held rain or shine! Weather permitting we will be drawing on the lawn and in the parking lot with each piece of DIA Inside Out art as out backdrop... If weather is an issue, we will be drawing indoors with Matisse and Woodruff themed costumes and sets $10 at the door/$5 students

Art Volunteer Program (AVP) Portfolio Addition - Elementary students + parent volunteers

The PCAC will be offering a new DIA Inside/Out Art History and Appreciation portfolio as part of our existing school outreach program. Our summer intern will be talking photographs of all of the installed pieces, and assembling educational information about the artists and artwork. In addition, we will be purchasing prints, compiling a project book, and creating samples for volunteers to present to the students in their own classroom. The AVP Program is sponsored by Community Financial Credit Union.
