Glenwood Springs, Colorado April 20 – 22, 2017
The Colorado-Wyoming Association of Museums invites you to share your ideas, knowledge, and experience with our membership by presenting at the 2017 Annual Meeting in Glenwood Springs, CO.
We will be accepting three types of proposals (Session, Workshop, and Thought Café) that focus on the Annual Conference’s Theme:
Elevate: Supporting Culture in Communities
Deadline for proposals: Friday, January 20, 2017
You will be notified of your proposal status by Friday, January 27, 2017
Session Guidelines: Sessions last approximately 75 minutes. The last 10 to 15 minutes should be saved for attendee Q&A and discussion.
Thought Café (Poster Session) Guidelines: The Thought Café is a poster and table session that lasts 2 hours. Conference participants will stop by your table to engage you in informal conversation about your presentation subject. You are expected to provide your own set up.
Workshop Guidelines: Workshops will last approximately 2 ½ hours. Workshops are intended to go in depth on a topic and be participatory.
- Presentations that support the Annual Meeting theme are encouraged. Presentations should go beyond “show & tell” and provide the audience with current, theoretical, and practical information.
- Presenters are encouraged to use technology (video, Powerpoint, etc.) when applicable. Please be reminded that it should serve as an effective tool. Thought Café presentations will not have guaranteed projector outlets.
- Presentation dates and times will be assigned by the program committee. If you require a specific date or time, let us know as soon as possible and we will try to accommodate you.
- All presentations are voluntary; we are unable to offer honoraria and presenters are responsible for their own meeting registration.
- Vendors are allowed to present a session, but please don’t use a session to advertise a specific business or product.
- All presenters are responsible for providing handouts or other supplementary materials. An approximate count of attendees will be provided a week prior to the Annual Meeting.
Have an idea for a session, workshop, or thought café but need additional presenters? Send us your name, institution, contact information, and a couple sentences about your proposed idea. We will do a call for panelists on CWAM social media and e-blast, so interested people can contact you.
