Objectives of the Division:

MEGT Apprenticeship Network Provider (ANP) is contracted to the Australian government through the Department of Education and Training (DET) to market and administer the Australian Apprenticeships Support Network (AASN). MEGT ANP offers a free service to employers, potential and current Australian Apprentices (includes apprentices and trainees) by:

  • providing customised pre-commencement services designed to screen, test, stream and match apprentices (and apprenticeships) to potential employers
  • completing and lodging National Training Contracts with the relevant State/Territory Training Authority
  • determining eligibility for participation and government funding
  • processing where applicable, incentive payments to employers and personal benefits and Trade Support Loans to Australian Apprentices
  • providing advice to employers and Australian Apprentices on relevant training packages
  • monitoring the progress of individual Australian Apprenticeships
  • providing tailored support such as mentoring for Australian Apprentices and employers
  • attending workplaces to provide support prior to and during the Australian Apprenticeship

Objectives of the Position:

The role of the ANPBusiness Development Manager is critical within MEGT (Australia) Ltd ANP division. Energy, enthusiasm and the drive to winand or organically growhigh quality and efficient business is essential for this role. The incumbent will develop and implement a sales plan and work with the State Leadership Team and other key stakeholders to ensure budget and new business targets are achieved.

A self-starter who is able to strategically promote MEGT and the provision of Australian Apprenticeships Support Network servicesto a wide range of corporate and government clients will find this both a very rewarding and challenging opportunity. There will be frequent travel required as part of this role.

Relationships:

  • Reports to the State Manager
  • Works collaborativelywith the various levels of management within the ANP Division
  • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, national RTOs, employer associations, employers, apprentices and trainees as well as Government bodies and TAFEs etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Market and promote MEGT AASN to large clients and stakeholders
  • Identify and secure business opportunities
  • Establish service level agreements with key and new clients
  • Delivering presentations to large prospective employers
  • Build strong and effective relationships with a range of employers, associations, GTO’s and STA’s
  • Ensuring consistency in sales, business development and through development and reinforcement of procedures for all aspects of the client relationship
  • Provide support to managers and staff in delivering high level AASN services to clients
  • Meet and/or exceed KPI’s
  • Work with the ANPNational Compliance & Quality Improvement Manager and ANP Transition and Training Coordinator to develop procedures, and make changes to procedures or training materials as needed
  • Ensure that staff comply with procedures around sales and business development.

Note: This Position Description is indicative of the initial expectation of the role and subject to change in line with requirements of the Department of Education and Training and/or MEGT’s goals and priorities, activities or focus of the job. The incumbent will also be responsible for areas in training in standardized procedures including Business Development.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Generate a minimum of 960 new registrations to MEGT per year
  • The transfer of a minimum of 140 active registrations to MEGT per year
  • Working in conjunction with State Leadership Team to identify new business opportunities
  • Retain 90% of all business generated

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Responsibilities:

All staff is required to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of other personnel who may be affected by their conduct.

Police Check:

All ANP staff are required to undertake a National Police Check prior to commencing employment. A State/Territory Working with Children or Working with Vulnerable People Check may also be required by any applicable State/Territory legislation. A clearance to work with children in connection with the delivery of Network Support Services is mandatory. The National Police Check must be renewed every two years as a minimum.Diversity:
