SELKIRK HIGH SCHOOL

George W Jack, MA, Rector

September 2013

Dear Parent/Guardian

FIRST YEAR EXODUS MAY 2014

As you may be aware, all first year pupils are given the opportunity to take part in a residential visit to Whithaugh Park, Newcastleton. This session the visit will take place from Monday 26 May to Friday 30 May 2014.

Whithaugh Park consists of an estate of over 100 acres. Pupils will be living in wooden chalets and activities include swimming, mountain biking, high ropes, kayaking, teambuilding, zip wire and much more! The structured programme followed during the week is intended to keep them busy all of the time. The activities are organised to bring out many aspects of personal development such as working as part of a team and being able to get on with others. It is intended to be educational, a lot of fun and it is hoped that all of first year will attend.

The cost to each pupil will be £250. Mrs Craig will collect payments at the office on a weekly basis every Friday morning at 8.45a.m. This will allow payments to be spread over a period of time with the full amount being paid by Friday 14 March 2014. This cost includes transport, accommodation, food and the cost of all activities. Participants will require very little pocket money and old clothes will suffice.

Please complete the attached slip and return it to me indicating whether or not you wish your son/daughter to take part in this Exodus programme along with a deposit of £30 no later than Friday 4 October 2013. Cheques should be made payable to Selkirk High School. He/she will then be issued with a payment card.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me either by phone or by email.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Samson

Depute Rector
