St. Philip Benizi Parish Mission Statement

St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church is dedicated to continuing the mission of Jesus Christ in the Franciscan tradition. We are people of many nations united by God's Holy Spirit, who strive to be witnesses of God's love to all people. Answering the call to Stewardship, we embrace the gifts of the Spirit and express the presence of God in liturgy, prayer, community life and social justice ministry. Through a commitment to lay leadership we accept the responsibility of spreading the Good News and creating a welcoming parish filled with the presence of Christ.

St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church thanks all who serve our parish and community and work to advance the mission of our Parish through the ministry/organization which you have established.

This form is required ANNUALLY for an existing ministry or organization (programs, groups, etc.) that has received the Pastor’s approval, and the recognition, support, and/or facilities usage at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. All ministries and organizations must have the Pastor’s approval prior to holding any meetings, activities, etc. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church.

All Archdiocese of Atlanta, National non-parish based, and non-diocese/non-parish based ministries/organizations must be listed on the Archdiocese of Atlanta’s Compliance List and receive the Pastor’s approval prior to conducting any meetings, activities, etc. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. These approved ministries/organizations must provide St. Philip Benizi Parish Office with proof of their own liability insurance and when applicable, a list of leaders, members, facilitators, instructors, etc., who are compliant with the Archdiocesan VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children Training and Volunteer Application process.

17.  General Requirements/Expectations of all approved Ministries/Organizations:

·  All approved ministries/organizations will:

o  Create/submit a Mission/Purpose Statement and Bylaws for their organization.

o  Be aligned with the St. Philip Benizi Parish Mission.

o  Establish a Parish Exchange Account for tracking all ministry/organization money.

o  Have leaders present at scheduled leadership meetings.

o  Renew volunteers annually within ministry.

o  Participate in the annual ministry fair and other parish volunteer recruitment efforts.

o  Contact their assigned Ministry Liaison from the Pastoral Council for assistance and complete required biannual Ministry Liaison reports with the assigned Ministry Liaison.

·  A file with all pertinent information, correspondence, etc. will be maintained for each approved ministry/organization in the parish business office by ministry/organizational leadership.
