Title I Lead Paraprofessional
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Highly-qualified (MUST have passed the Para-pro exam OR have had 2 years of college).
· Indiana Teachers license preferred
· Ability to work effectively with both children and adults

REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Title I Building Coordinator
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 180 days (Based upon funding)
SALARY: Per classified employee salary schedule
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates instructional responsibilities for Title I students with highly qualified, licensed classroom teachers.
2. Assists in instruction/presentation of lessons for Title I students under the direction of a highly qualified, licensed classroom teacher.
3. Administers examinations to Title I students in accordance with teacher guidance.
4. Assists Title I students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments in order to reinforce learning concepts.
5. Observes and supervises Title I students during classroom activities.
6. Helps Title I students utilize equipment and instructional materials available in the classroom.
7. Participates in in-service training programs as appropriate.
8. Assists the classroom teacher in implementing strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual Title I students’ needs, interests, and abilities.
9. Implements independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work for Title I students as assigned by a classroom teacher and/or Title I Building Coordinator.
10. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality as is expected of a regular teacher.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Meet with the elementary level Title I Coordinator weekly regarding concerns and/or questions.
2. Analyze benchmarking data to determine students who are eligible for services.
3. Configure groups for the pull-out program based on ability levels; determine interventions to be used for each group.
4. Schedule intervention times with classroom teachers (if not built into the school day).
5. Teach all interventions for the Title I At Risk groups under the direct supervision of a licensed teacher.
6. Monitor all Title I At Risk groups (bimonthly, or in some cases, weekly).
7. Collaborate with the classroom teachers every 6 weeks regarding the progress of all Title I/Reading intervention groups.
8. Work cohesively with the building level Title I para-professionals.
9. Communicate Title I students’ progress with parents using the red folders.
10. Provide data for RTI meetings concerning Title/reading intervention students.
11. Help to train the new building level Title I para-professionals.
12. Inform building level principal of any concerns.
13. Perform all other duties related to Title I students/program as assigned by the principal and/or Title I Building Coordinator.
