Area Service Committee Regular Meeting August 19th, 2012

The regularly scheduled meeting of the SFANA ASC opened at 4:00 pm. The meeting was opened with the “We” version of the Serenity Prayer followed by the Twelve Traditions, the Twelve Concepts and the Vision for NA Service. Motion to accept the last months minutes passes.3

The River Rat meeting has been removed from the meeting schedule, a new group has been formed from that group and they have asked to continue being a part of the SFANA. The (Proof you can) Return from the Living Dead Group of NA meet Saturday mornings at 11:30 at the Haunted Mill in Belmont, 6325 Wilkinson Blvd. 28012.

From SFANA Policy & Procedure - N. ACTIVITIES CHAIR

1.Prepares the agenda and presides over subcommittee meetings.

2.Attends all ASC meetings and is the liaison between the ASC and the subcommittee.

3.Suggested minimum 2 years clean.

4.Participates in the activities of the subcommittee.

5.Is one of 4 persons able to sign subcommittee checks.

6.Activities Co-Chair should attend the ASC and assumes responsibilities of the chairperson in his/her absence.

7.Provides a written report at all ASC meetings.

8. Required to attend Policy and procedure orientation.

SFANA, I was grateful to be able to serve this past year, thanks for allowing me to and for being patient with me! I just want to remind everyone of the open positions, starting this month we will be without a:

These positions are really important and the handful of officers that we do have should not be serving alone, so please share this with your home groups.

Also, just as a reminder, without a secretary there will be no one to do minutes and mail them out, so please send a representative to area to take notes so that your home group doesn’t miss out on anything important!

Dear SFANA, Just want to take the opportunity to say thank you for allowing me to serve the Groups in this area. I have learned a lot this year and have also enjoyed being at the regional meetings. I know that Barry will do a great job as RCM in the up-coming year. I love you all! Karen H.

P&P

Hello everyone, just a quick reminder, we have a lot of open positions still. Also we will have another Policy and Procedures orientation in September before the ASC meeting. This date is September 16. The meeting will be at 2:30. Please remember that one of the potions in policy for all area officers states that one of the requirements is to attend the P&P orientation.

H&I Report

Hello Family,It is a great day to be clean and of service. All but two meetings were carried last month. Today we had 5 new orientates & spoke about willingness to help fill empty positions. We will be putting together an orientation time for Campvention and announce it before hand. Again thanks for allowing me to be of service. P.S. We also filled the Literature poition today!! We are still accepting applications!

Public Relations

Hello Family, I currently have meeting schedules available. Our subcommittee agreed upon the 4 fold schedules due to incrase in meetings in our area. We have scheduled a poster day in October.
