JOB SUMMARY

This Student 4 will be responsible for coordination of the G4H Soccer League. The Student 4 will organize the logistics of the league, set up the schedule, work with G4H staff to implement and assess the program. Performs other duties as needed.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES*

1.  Manages the G4H Soccer League:

a.  Logistics

b.  Reporting

c.  Recruiting coaches, referees, and players

d.  Updates website with league information

e.  Organizes scheduling and team coordination

f.  Develops and implements orientation and training for parents, coaches, referees

g.  Communicates announcements and facilitates end of season awards ceremony

2.  Works closely with G4H Health Healthy Living Activities and Special Events Coordinator in the implementation of health education activities.

3.  Develops rapport and resources with team parents and coaches.

4.  Collaborates with CAPS Director to develop program assessment and evaluation.

5.  Supports CAPS Director in seeking grant funding and sponsorships.

6.  Writes reports on findings for potential publication.

7.  Provides promotional information to Public Relations Coordinator for PR.

8.  Supports CAPS Director in development of Community Advisory Committee for G4H.

9.  Attends and possibly leads meetings as needed.

10. Supports CAPS special events throughout the year.

11. Assists with overall CAPS strategic planning as requested.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

1.  Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge: Knowledge of soccer preferred. Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to communicate fluently in English, both in verbal and written form. Able to operate a computer and use software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel. Able to file records and sort mail. Essential Interpersonal Skills: Able to work effectively and efficiently with a variety of people; cooperative; takes initiative; participates well in a team environment; possesses good communication skills; ability to accept guidance and take direction from peers and supervisors; asks questions appropriately. Essential Mental Abilities: Ability to make independent decisions, carry-out duties and responsibilities with limited supervision, and establish work priorities on essential procedure-oriented operations. Ability to oversee, supervise and guide graduate student research activities. Essential Sensory Abilities: Ability to see, hear, and to communicate with others in person, via telephone and e-mail.

2.  Education and Experience: Must be currently enrolled as a Loma Linda University student. Must be eligible for Federal Work Study program. Previous clerical or office experience preferred.

3.  Licensure, Certification, or Registration: None.
