BOOKS ACROSS THE SEAS PROGRAM

GUIDELINES and PROCEDURES

  1. Books Across The Seas Program is a book donation project of RC Makati in partnership with Brother’s Brother Foundation (USA) and Allied Banking Corporation. RC Makati shares this Program with Rotary Clubs in the Philippines including those from District 3810. Books are from the United States of America.
  1. Requirements to avail of Books from BATS:
  1. Submit BATS Requisition Form to RCM
  2. Donate Php5.00 per pamphlet/workbook and Php10.00 per book
  3. Submit a report to RCM within 30 days after implementing the project
  1. The BATS Requisition Form is to be accomplished/signed by the Club President and endorsed/signed by the Area SDG or AG. It is to be sent electronically to Mr. Ron Dotaro of RC Makati, Email: and to the District 3810 BATS Chair, PP Rey Garcia of RC Pasay West, Email: .
  1. The BATS Coordinator of Rotary Club of Makati is Mr. Ron Dotaro. He is in-charge of processing requests for BATS Books and in informing requestors of the approval of their BATS Requisitions. The contact numbers of RC Makati is Tel. No. 899-7863 and 899-7865. Email: . The requestor may follow up the status of his request directly to Mr. Ron Dotaro.
  1. Donations areto be paid upon approval of a request. Pay directly to RC Makati at their office located at MRCFIBuilding, Camia Street, Guadalupe Viejo, MakatiCity. The Official Receipt (OR) will serve as gate pass from the warehouse where requested books can be picked up. Make the check payable to Rotary Club of Makati-BATS.
  1. The Sponsoring Rotary Club is responsible in picking up the books from the warehouse of RC Makati located at: Allied Asia Brewery Compound, M. Pascual St. (Along Quirino Avenue) Baesa, Novaliches, Quezon City. Look for Ms. Sally Padilla. Tel. No. 362-5010.
  1. Rotary Clubs are eligible for multiple requests as long as they do not have any pending reports. Reporting should be done within 30 days after the pick up of the books at the warehouse. Reports should include pictures of the turnover with banner acknowledging the Rotary Club of Makati and District 3830, Brother’s Brother Foundation and Allied Banking Corp.
  1. The books are not for sale and should not be used for political purposes.Examples of eligible beneficiaries are Public Schools and Libraries, Barangay Day Care Centers as well as those run by civic organizations, Municipal and City Jails, Learn to Read Projects, and other Literacy Projects requiring books.
  1. Selection of books is on a first come / first serve basis and shall be done by BATS personnel and/or a representative/s of the Beneficiary accompanied by a Rotarian from the sponsoring club.
  1. Each Public School beneficiary shall be entitled to maximum pieces of books equivalent to 50% of its total student population. Indicate the total student population of your intended beneficiary in the Requisition Form.
  1. For faster processing of BATS Requisitions and convenience, electronic communication is highly encouraged in the submission of BATS forms, reports and coordinations.
