Month Long Activities

Flower Bulbs for the Food Drive! OSU Libraries/E-Campus has setup a site with Van Bourgondien where we get 50% of all sales done from the following link. Their bulbs are guaranteed and they ship to you when the season arrives. Please share this site with your friends and family and we can raise money for Linn-Benton Food Share in a colorful way and don’t forget to order your bulbs also!

Raffle for gift cards to local businesses! The College of Education is holding a raffle to raise money for the OSU Food Drive. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Prizes include an antique silver ring from Alta’s Antiques, as well as gift cards or certificates to local businesses, including: American Dream, Block 15, Darkside Cinema, Del Alma, First Alternative Co-op, Garland Nursery, Laughing Planet Café, New Morning Bakery, Peak Sports, The Retreat, Sibling Revelry, Stargazer Premier Florist, and Vertebrata Chiropractic. Organic Grower's Club $5 Friday Lunches! The Organic Grower’s Club will again be sponsoring “Fabulous Five Dollar Fridays in February!” This year it will be held in the comfortable student lounge in ALS 4018. We serve a hot lunch, for a suggested donation of five dollars. All money raised goes to the OSU Food Drive. Fridays in February, noon to 1 p.m.

Quilt Raffle Tickets! From February 1-29, 8am - 5pm purchase a quilt raffle ticket at the College of Forestry Computer Helpdesk located in FERM.

Book Resale! Information Services has collected used books, CD's, VHS, etc for resale. "You pick your Price!" Take a look, read, and decide how much you want to pay. Located in Milne room 224. For more information contact Carla Cogburn, 7-2671.

Buck-A-Book! Visit the CEOAS Admin Lounge and pick up a book for only $1! If you would like to donate a book, simply add it to the inventory.

Quilt Raffle! The Academic Success Center is selling tickets for a beautiful queen-sized (84” x 100 “) scrap quilt in shades of blue, green, and turquoise for only $1.00 a ticket as a fundraiser for the OSU Food Drive. Purchase tickets at Waldo 102 from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The quilt pattern is an alternate pinwheel and 16-patch with a total of one hundred 8 inch blocks (1200 pieces). Chocolate lover alert: Come to the Chemistry office in Gilbert 153 and see the GIANT flask full of chocolate that you could win! For only $1, you can guess how many pieces are in the flask; the person who is closest without going over will win both the flask and the candy. Proceeds go to the Linn Benton Food Share.

50/50 Raffle: Donate and the winner gets half the pot! Who doesn’t need cash? Tickets are $1 each and are available in the Atrium of Magruder Hall from 8am - 5pm.

Feb. 2 OSU Valley Library craft and bake sale:Mmmmm, brownies! Oooooh, hand crafted goods! Thursday, Feb. 2, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Willamette East (3622) 3nd Floor of The Valley Library. Proceeds benefit OSU Food Drive.

Feb. 3 Chili Feed hosted by AMBC: Feb. 3 at Hovland Hall Rm 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Come enjoy some homemade chili and cornbread with a donation of $2 per bowl or all you can eat for $5 or a donation of the equivalent in canned food. Contact: for more details.

From Feb. 6-10, a rummage sale will feature movies, household goods and more. From Feb. 13-17, they'll be selling books and music. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds benefit the OSU Food Drive.

Feb. 13-22 Prettiest Pet Contest: Enter the Graduate School’s Prettiest Pet Contest to benefit the OSU Food Drive. To enter submit a photo of your pet (up to 8.5” x 11”) along with a $1 entry fee to the Graduate School. Cast your vote for the prettiest pet with your donations. The pet with the most donations will win a $25 gift certificate to Animal Crackers. All entries will also be entered into a random drawing for a $50 gift certificate to Animal Crackers. Feb. 14 Food Drive Dessert Walk: Business Services is hosting a “Sweets for your Sweetheart” Dessert Walk in the Property Services Building from noon to 1 p.m. on Feb. 14. Each round is $1 per person for a chance to take home a delicious dessert donated by the employees of the department. We will have as many rounds as there are desserts so come and play with us.

Feb. 14 Valentine’s Day Bake Sale hosted by AMBC, Feb 14 at 108 Hovland Hall, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come get some Valentine theme baked goodies for your loved ones. Feb. 25 Volunteer at Linn Benton Food Share: On Saturday, February 25 from 9am to 11am, the Center for Civic Engagement is sponsoring a Faculty/Staff and Family service project at the Linn Benton Food Share. Participants will help to pack non-perishable foods to be distributed to local food banks, soup kitchens, and emergency shelters. This event is planned to dovetail with the OSU Food Drive that runs every February. All of the donations collected during the OSU Food Drive benefit Linn Benton Food Share and the agencies served by Linn Benton Food Share. This is an opportunity for the OSU community to provide direct service in addition to donations to address local food insecurity. Participants will provide their own transportation and meet at the Linn Benton Food Share warehouse at 33747 Looney Lane, Tangent, Oregon. Children are welcome as long as they are closely supervised by their parent or guardian. Linn Benton Food Share can accommodate up to 50 participants.

March 1 Chili Cook Off: Join the College of Vet Med for their Chili Cook Off in Magruder Atrium at noon. Be a judge and then enjoy a bowl of your favorite chili for a donation.

March 2 Italian Lunch: Enjoy a slow cooked Italian red sauce loaded with garlic, onions and mushrooms over spaghetti pasta with sourdough bread on the side. Meatball and meatless alternatives will be provided for the first 200 people.Recommended donation of $3, all contributions to benifit Linn Benton Food Share.Motor Pool in Corvallis, 11:30 - 1:30 p.m.

March 2 Soup Bar: Linn County Extension Office is having a soup lunch from 11:30 - 1pm. 104 Fourth St. SW, Albany.

March 2 Silent Auction: Business Affairs is having a Silent Auction on March 2 from noon to 4pm in 100 Kerr. Thee are some really great items….a Beaver package of baseball tickets and a dinner gift certificate, another set of Beaver baseball tickets (both are the best seats in the house), a Beaver quilt, a Beaver Box of goodies, a Chocolate Decadence basket….and much, much more.
