Financial help for Creative Arts Kits, for new and returning students, may be available through the College’s Bursary Fund. Julie Shephard, Bursary Manager, can be contacted on the main college number and will also be in college throughout the Summer break if you would like to find out if you are eligible for an award.

Trips

We run a number of trips throughout the year to support student’s coursework. The trips are compulsory and we appreciate prompt payment and return of information slips for these events.

We have organised the following trips this year;

·  London trip to the ‘Fashion & Textile Museum’ ‘Liberty in Fashion approx cost £25 Oct 2015

·  Birmingham Clothes show live TBC approx. £30 Dec 2015 2015

Homework and Deadlines

Homework will be set on a regular basis and students will be asked to submit work at the end of every project. We expect students to spend up to four and half hours of independent study for this subject every week and students who do not submit work of an acceptable standard and on time may be asked to leave the course.

Please check back of sketch books to see the work set, it is also published on moodle (the college’s Virtual Learning Environment ) . You should witness progress in the sketchbook every week and are asked to initial that you have seen this. Your support in ensuring work is undertaken at home is greatly appreciated.

There are two major coursework deadlines this year, they are:

Coursework portfolio – Thursday 5th February 2015

Controlled Assignment exam sessions - April 2015 (Dates to be confirmed)

We appreciate parental support in helping students to meet deadlines throughout the year.

Yours sincerely

Joanna Woodbridge and Jennifer Hamblin
