The Walk

1.  Leave the pub car park and cross over the A508 heading north for a short while.

2.  At the northern end of the garage forecourt turn right down the path to a gate which takes you through to a field.

3.  Follow the path across the field and down the side of a garden and where the path meets the road turn left through a gate onto a field path.

4.  Follow this for a mile and a half until joining the Brampton Valley Way.

5.  Turn left and follow this level path until just short of the A14 where there is a footpath to the right. Follow up the incline across a field and over a stile into a large field where the path turns south at the halfway point.

6.  This field slopes gently downhill for half a mile bearing slightly left and through a gap in the hedge turn right onto a path for a short distance before rejoining Brampton Valley way which should be followed in a southerly direction until reaching the Maidwell to Draughton road.

7.  At this point, either turn right along the road into Maidwell village, or follow the track for half a mile until there is a sign to turn right to Maidwell, over a stile and across a field rejoining the road.

8.  Turn left and walk through the village up to the A508, turn right and follow to the Stags Head.
