Emerson awarded contract by Maersk Oil to provide measurement engineering services for North Sea installations
Three-year contract to be managed by Emerson’s METCO Services
includes full-time onsite engineers
Emerson’s METCO Services has been awarded a contract by Maersk Oil North Sea UK Limited, to provide measurement engineering support for its UK North Sea offshore operations for the next three years. Emerson will provide Total Metering Management (TMM) services on Maersk Oil’s Gryphon and GP III FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) units and Janice FPU (Floating Production Unit).
As part of the £1.95M service agreement, Emerson field technicians will be stationed full-time on the offshore installations. An additional metering engineer will work with the Maersk Oil engineering team at its Aberdeen facility to assist in the verification of daily production figures. Emerson will also help Maersk Oil ensure that systems, procedures, operations and maintenance comply with regulatory authority requirements.
Emerson has also been awarded a two-year contract by Maersk FPSOs to provide TMM services for the oil and gas metering systems on the Maersk Peregrino stationed in the southwest part of the Campos Basin region, Brazil.

Total Metering Management (TMM) includes the management, operation, and maintenance of all metering systems. TMM involves responsibility for flow computers and all metering instrumentation, including routine maintenance and recertification, conducting data validation, reporting any mis-measurements, maintaining calibration history, managing spares and equipment, checking daily production figures and carrying out hydrocarbon sampling. Onshore support is provided to help optimise systems and procedures and to schedule maintenance programmes, calibration regimes and recertification.
