A.P. Calculus Lab Disclosure

Grading: Grades are based upon your attendance and participation in class. There are 10 points possible per day. The first 5 points you will earn from a daily bell quiz. These cannot be made up so please try and be on time and present as much as possible. The second 5 points will be earned every day from you actively working on your calculus assignments. If you are not in class you cannot earn any points, so it is very important to be in class. There are only 2 grades: Pass and Fail. In order to pass, you will need to accumulate 80% of the points possible, no exceptions. This class is designed to help you prepare for the A.P. Calculus test. Please use your class time wisely. During class you will be working with your assigned group. I ask that you not get up and move around to socialize. You will change groups each quarter.
Testing: In the A.P Calculus class all of the test will be over two days. We will be taking all of the second day’s tests during this lab time.
Absent/Make up Time: If you are absent or tardy, you can arrange a time to come in and work on your math homework (outside of math lab). Each 30 min. you stay after school will make up one class period participation points. (5 pts.)
Citizenship grade: You will have to earn a citizenship grade. All students will start out with an S and will go up or down depending on attitude, preparation, respect, and behavior in class.
Attendance: School policy will be followed, and if you want a good grade, attendance is a must.
Policies and Procedures: No Cell phones, pagers, CD- players, I-pods, etc. are not allowed and will be confiscated. I will not tolerate any vulgar or profane language. Students are expected to come to class prepared with the necessary equipment for math class
