Y3/4 Mini Tennis County Final
WINNERS!!!
On the 11th of July a team of eight pupils from Y3/4 attended the mini tennis county finals at Wellington College. Jack Craik, Sam Turner, Henry Field, Daisy Craik, Zack Benoke, Poppy Airey, Hannah Griffith and Elizabeth Cunningham played 3 schools to qualify for the semi finals. They beat Lynch Hill, St Edmund Champion and Trinity. In the semi-finals we played Binfield and won 5 matches out of a possible 8. This meant we qualified for the final. In the final we played Trinity again and won all 8 of our matches. Fantastic achievement from all the children! The children displayed lots of the Olympic values throughout the day and were a credit to the school.
Well done!
Falkland Kwik Cricket Festival
This year saw us send a boys and girls team to Falkland cricket club on June the 17th. In the boys team we had; Thomas Morton, Christian Collett, James Legg, Jacob Gill, Henry Drake, Robbie Marriott, Arjun Sanghera, Nathan Stacey, Ollie Basham and Kieran Benton. We have some fantastic cricket players in Y5/6 and I was expecting that they would do very well. We won two out of three of our matches and just missed going through to the knockout stages. The girls didn’t fair quite so well, loosing all of their matches. Hannah Irfan, Ella Everden, Kate O’Doherty, Katie Dunn, Eloise Bennett, Immy Lyons, Kate Ritchie, Cameron McCulloch, Lizzie and Anna Heneghan thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Table Tennis Festival – RUNNERS UP
On Tuesday 3rd of June we entered another new competition. Park House organised a Table Tennis Festival for year 5/6 pupils. Thomas Morton, Christian Collett, Hannah Irfan and Ella Everden made up our team. We beat several schools to reach the finals. We played against Falkland in the finals and all four players had very close and well fought matches. Falkland came away as overall winners and Hermitage took the silver medal.
The children enjoyed their games so much that we decided it would be a good idea to get an outdoor table tennis for the school. As you may be aware some of the money from our sponsored walk, during Sports Week, will go towards the purchase of a table that we hope all the children will enjoy.

Quad Kids Year 5/6 and Y3/4
The Quad Kids event at Park House took place at Park House School on Saturday the 14th of June, having been rained off in May. Unfortunately, we were unable to send a full squad of children from Y5/6, however those that did attend performed so well. Each child had four events to complete; the 75m sprint, 600m middle distance, standing long jump and the howler throw. The children from Y5/6: Thomas Morton, Christian Collett, Hannah Irfan, Ella Everden, Cameron McCulloch and Katie Dunn all did well, especially as the Y6 children had only just returned from a very tiring week at Sealyham.
Our Y3/4 team was able to finish in 3rd place, which was a wonderful achievement! We had a full squad which included; Henry Field, Jack Craik, Sam Turner, Zack Benoke, Daisy Craik, Poppy Airey, Lilly Disson, Olivia Bevan and Hannah Griffith. They completed the same events but had a shorter middle distance run of 400m. A really brilliant effort from all the children again.
