Press Release - For immediate release 25th June 2015

Get fishy with Jurassic Skyline

Turn up the bass and get ready for mackerel mayhem in the Jurassic Skyline ‘How To’ Zone at the 8th Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival - taking place 11-12 July 2015 in Weymouth Harbour.

Visitors will have an opportunity to get their hands on some wonderful fresh, local seafood, and not only learn how to prepare and cook it, but to find out how easy it is to barbecue too in the ‘How To’ Zone, sponsored by Jurassic Skyline (the newly rebranded Weymouth Tower).

Tamsin Mutton-McKnight, Jurassic Skyline General Manager said: “We are encouraging people to join in with the fun at the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival and not only try foods they might not have come across before, but learn about the wonderful fresh produce that is available from the Dorset coastline.

“The Jurassic Skyline ‘How To’ Zone offers visitors the chance to fearlessly prepare seafood with the experts and gain confidence in filleting and cooking fresh fish. The sessions are free and last about 30 minutes each – we hope our visitors get stuck in and have fun!”

Sessions include getting to grips with oyster shucking, crab picking, chilli squid, marvellous mullet, and much more.

Chef and MC, Richard Fox says: “Research shows that our eating habits are already formed by the age of five, so make sure you bring the whole family along to the Jurassic Skyline ‘How To’ Zone to be encouraged to have a go by cooking locally caught seafood on Broil King barbecue grills. Or sit back and relax, and simply learn from the experts.”

Richard will be joined by Dorset chefs Mat Follas – Chef Patron of The Casterbridge Dorchester, author of ‘FISH’ and winner of BBC Masterchef, Pete Miles – Owner of Dorset Oysters and Chef Patron of The Cruel Sea, Poole as well as Star of the ITV series ‘Harbour Lives’, and Nigel Bloxham, author of the ‘Crab House Cafe’, Chef Patron of the Crab House and recently featured in BBC’s Food & Drink Programme. In addition, two of the UK’s top filterers will be in the ‘How To ‘Zone too - Duncan Lucas from Passionate about Fish and Nick Bryant from Samways.
