Ki Aikido, the art of coordination of mind and body, a non-aggressive way to practice Aikido in your daily life using the principles of Ki. The Art was created and developed by Tohei Sensei, the founder of “Shin Shin Toitsudo Aikido” organization well known as “Ki Society” from the teachings of O’Sensei as well as from other disciplines. A young Art, as many Japanese may say but the Art that puts together a relaxed mind into a relaxed body in order to unify our mind and body to become one with the Universe. Through practice, exercising Ki development, Ki breathing, Ki meditation and Taigis, we learn how to live a positive life, how to be healthier and nevertheless happier.

I have been practicing the Art of Ki Aikido since 1991 under the teachings of Sensei Mervyn Williams, instructor of Ki Federation of GB. Sensei Mervyn was direct assistant of Sensei Williams, the Technical Director and President of Ki Federation of Great Britain and he was assigned in 1992 by Sensei Williams to teach and be responsible of the development of Ki Aikido in the Romanian affiliated club where I was student at that time.

Years after years, the practice was becoming more interesting going through several syllabus steps to a higher grade. In June 1995 I was graded 1st Dan and few months later I received the instructor certificate after a technical test passed during one week course with Sensei Mervyn, in UK.

In 1997 my job moved to UK and for two years I have been practicing in the “Ki School of Aikido”club with Sensei Mervyn as Chief Instructor and President of the organization and Sensei Dee Rivaz.

Returning back to Romania in 1999 I opened my own club as part of “Scoala de Ki”, organization affiliated to “Ki School of Aikido” UK. In 6 years the club brought up new black belts and several kyu grades, passing the discipline of Ki principles into Aikido techniques to students of different ages, physical abilities and varies social conditions.

In January 2005, following an intensive black belt course and one week of 3rd Dan classes taught by Sensei Mervyn Williams, I was assigned the grade of 4th Dan in the Art of Ki Aikido.

I recently moved to USA where I intend to continue to practice and teach the method of Ki School of Aikido, under the direct supervision of Sensei Mervyn Williams. The organization has now representative and affiliated clubs in Romania, Germany, France and UK.
