Call for Applications
UW Anesthesiology: T32 Postdoctoral Research Training Program
The UW Anesthesiology department is pleased to announce a call for applications for postdoctoral research training from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) sponsored T32 Anesthesiology Research Training Program. The T32 program offers remarkable opportunities to develop a research career within a very diverse range of interests in anesthesiology and pain medicine. We aim to recruit outstanding postdoctoral trainees from a broad representation of academic backgrounds, race/ethnicity, disability, and gender. The T32 program will provide trainees with interdisciplinary principles of scientific investigation, and methods pertinent to their research area. Our program spans basic, clinical, translational, population, and health services research through facultymentorship and participation in didactics. Faculty mentors have been recruited from throughout the university, and represent a very broad spectrum of research interests. The long-term goal of our program is to train clinician scientists who will be the future leaders in innovative research in academic anesthesiology.
Applicants must identify a potential faculty mentor, and develop a proposed research plan in consultation with that mentor to be submitted with the application. Fellows will be selected based on a competitive application process in which academic qualifications, career goals, and the quality of the training environment will be important considerations for funding. Award recipients are required to make an 80% research commitment to the training program for a minimum of two years, beginning in spring/summer/fall 2018.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Strong academic credentials and good communication skills
- Ability to commit 80% effort to the training program for the entire period of funding
- Proposed research project must be relevant to anesthesiology and pain medicine research
- Interest in developing an academic career in anesthesiology research
- Identification of a faculty mentor and strong mentor support
Application Procedure:
Candidates must submit a formal application with the following components:
- Completed program application form and CV
