The York Suburban Lacrosse Club General Board Meeting for March 2014 was called to order by Candice Sipes at 7:40 pm. In attendance: Nina Cassino, Mike Cassino, Sara Hunt, Pamela Kutcher, Byron LeCates, Candice Sipes and Dwight Sipes.

Minutes: Sara Hunt—February 4, 2014 minutes were e-mailed and also distributed for review. There were no changes.

Treasurer’s Report: No report.

President’s Report: Candice Sipes—Uniform status: uniforms have been ordered and should be in the week of March 18 (prior to the season starting on March 29). Pinnies have also been ordered. Candice is collecting shirt sizes for each of the coaches—each coach receives a polo shirt from the Club. The YSLC apparel store, through the Stylin’ Strings website, was extended to Wed., March 5 in order for all those interested to place their order with the first batch. Orders can still be placed after this date with a second batch; delivered on a date to be determined.

Field status: waiting on the snow to melt and the fields to dry up a bit for outdoor practice can begin on March 10.

Parent Meetings will be conducted by each of the Team Parent Reps (Candice will provide Reps with bullet points to discuss) during the 2nd week of practice. Picture order forms (Picture Day is Sunday, April 6) will be handed out along with uniforms and LAX Bash will be discussed. For next year, a mandatory parents meeting will be scheduled—sometime toward the end of registration—to discuss the season, tournaments, fundraisers and answer any questions parents may have.

Volunteer Opportunities—concession help will be needed, as well as donations. Candice will connect with Christine Williams and Linda Warren to determine the best way to request donations. There is a signup sheet on www.yslacrosse.com (click on the Volunteering tab and individuals can see what volunteer opportunities are open).

There is a scrimmage scheduled for March 22 with Red Land, beginning at 1 pm.

Registration will be open until March 8.

General Manager’s Report: Byron LeCates—three (3) helmets still need to be tracked down from past players. Binders from past coaches for U11, U13 an U15 are needed so that these can be updated.

There is a need for U15 players—YSLC is looking for 7th, 8th and 9th graders (even from other schools).

With Tiger Trash out of the portable toilet business, Byron will be making the arrangements to have a port-a-potty at the Penn State field when practices begin (company needs a 24 hour notice). Reminder: a port-a-potty, paid for by YSSD, will be available at the High School.

The Lumberjax tournament in Spring Grove is May 3 beginning at 8 am. Each team is guaranteed three games.
