SecurityAnalyst Position

As a member of this team, you can helpdesign, develop, test, and document product security solutions for Cisco.We are focused on developing best-in-world product security technologies,tools, and process and are leading the global Cisco Development Organization in the definition, deployment andimplementation of the Cisco Secure Development Lifecycle methodology. Ourengineers work on product security solutions and technologies that impactnetwork solutions in voice, security, switching, routing,storage, wireless, and network management systems. We help shape thesecurity postures of products and solutions that affect home, business, education,and government networks. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate or have a track recordin the following:

  • Creative problem-solving skills and excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Ability to handle complex projects and solve problems with solutions based on diverse procedures and precedents
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work towards long-term goals
  • Flexibility and openness to change
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be familiar with UNIX commands and be comfortable working in a UNIX environment
  • Knowledgeable in one or more of the following:
  • Applied cryptography
  • Cryptographic algorithm design and review
  • Network security, protocols
  • Application security, web application security
  • Secure development practices
  • Software vulnerability assessment, fuzzing, and code coverage analysis

Having experience with the following is a plus, but not necessary:

  • A variety of languages including: assembly, C, Java, shellscript, Perl, Ruby, Python, or equivalent
  • Virtualization platforms and techniques
  • Web protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SOAP) and basic web development techniques (Javascript, CSS, AJAX)
  • Debugging network protocols and sessions (TCP/UDP, SIP, RTP, SSL, etc.)
  • Software version control concepts and/or change management principles. (DVCS)

The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Degree, or PhD. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or suitable

relevant training and experience..

Multiple positions are available in US-only locations. Qualified candidates must be willing to relocate. Due to the type of work this position will perform and the government customers the role will work with, US Citizenship is required.
