RE INSPECTION BY THE DIOCESE

I hope you have all received a copy of our SIAMS inspection, which looked at the quality of the Christian character of our school, through both RE teaching and the way the school teaches Christianity through collective worship and through the daily life in the school. If you have read it, you will know that the school was judges as outstanding, which is the highest grade we could be given. This is very exciting, and the inspector made it clear that the whole school community have contributed to this judgement, including parents, governors and especially the knowledge and attitudes of the pupils. Well done everyone!

MAINTENANCE PAYMENT

Each year parents are asked to make a financial contribution to the diocese, which helps to fund the central help from the diocese that the school receives. All parents sign an agreement to pay this when their child enters the school. A letter has gone out this week, reminding parents that payment is due. Please make this payment as soon as you can. Thank you.

READING CLUB

Miss Debbie would like me to let you know that reading club starts again next Wednesday at 3.15 until 4 p.m. in the Portacabin. Children with a parent are welcome to come.

PARTY BAGS

Can I please remind you that party bags are not allowed in school. If it is your child’s birthday, you may bring cut up (and wrapped) birthday cake, or individual cakes. Please keep to this, as we will not allow party bags to be given out.

FOOTBALLS

There have been some difficulties involving balls brought from home. Please do not allow your child to bring balls of any kind from home – we provide balls for them to play with in school.

GRANGE SCHOOL

Grange School staff were at St. Paul’s this Monday. It was quite a challenge fitting another 50 adults in the school, and some classes had several adults in there all day! It was very worthwhile, and we are sharing ideas with Grange about how we can continue to make our schools even better.
