All CCEP applications must include application fee payment.

The deadline for CCEP applications is six weeks before CCEP, generally the beginning of September and March.

CCEP is a time intensive program that requires reading three of Jean Watson's books and several articles, intensive written work, the implementation of a caring science project, and creation of portfolio, poster and written abstract.

Applicants are selected based on personal and professional knowledge and experience with caring science the Theory of Human Caring, vision and reason for applying to CCEP, written essay that addresses selected aspects of caring science, reflective answers, and commitment to program completion.

To be considered for CCEP, it is important to answer each question thoughtfully and completely.

PART IV: CARING SCIENCE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Directions:

Please answer each question thoughtfully and completely. Applicants are accepted into the program based on their knowledge and experience with caring science, vision and reason for applying to CCEP, written essay, ability to express oneself, and dedication to completion of the program.

  1. Describe previous course and/or continuing education work in Caring Science / Theory of Human Caring.
  1. Describe experiences in working with/applying Theory of Human Caring in your professional life.
  1. Describe the nature and scope of your current self-care and spiritual practices that help you promote your well-being, balance, and caring-healing focus in your life.
  1. Describe your reason for applying to be a CaritasCoach. Include how you envision your future role and contribution to the work of Caring Science as a Caritas Coach.
  1. CCEP requires six months of faculty guided learning experience that requires self-directed learning, online learning, writing an abstract, creating a poster, and presenting your caritas project. What experience have you had with online learning, abstract writing, poster creation, and/or giving presentations?
  1. The Caritas Coach Education Program is rigorous. The Program requires that you attend one 4-day onsite ICC/CCEP seminar, one Regional Caritas Consortium, or professional conference, and one 2-day onsite CCEP, weekly communication with your Faculty Mentor, read a minimum of three books, keep a daily journal, integrate reflective practice into your daily life, complete four comprehensive Learning Activity Guides, develop and implement a Caritas project using Caring Science, write an abstract on the project, create a portfolio, and present the project as a formal poster presentation at the Completion ICC/CCEP gathering or a Regional Caritas Consortium or professional conference . Please pause and reflect on how you will be able to manage these requirements. Write a brief paragraph describing how you will be able to fit in the Program requirements into your life and schedule.
  1. Please reflect and describe how the CCEP faculty can help you succeed in the Program.

PART V: NARRATIVE

Write a narrative on one (1) of the ten (10) Caritas ProcessesTM outlined by Watson in the Theory of Human Caring, describe how you have applied that chosen Caritas ProcessTM in your personal and/or professional life, and how it informs your work and life’s journey. Please use this document to write your narrative and make sure your answer is thoughtful, complete, and reflects one of the Caritas ProcessesTM.

Once accepted into CCEP, you will receive your textbooks, information on pre-seminar assignments, how to log into the password protected section of the Caritas Coach Education Program on the website, and how to register for ICC.
