Client Service Professional of the Year
The Client Service Professional of the Year is an award to recognize members whose primary responsibility is in a service capacity with internal and/or external customers. It is particularly intended to include IT professionals, Human Resources, Accounting, Actuarial, Industry Support (i.e. restoration, repair, etc.), and Customer Service Representatives in the insurance and all supporting industries.
Eligibility Requirements
- Active member in good standing in the International Association of Insurance Professionals.
- Primary job duties include providing service and support to an agency or an internal or external client.
- Members with dual memberships are eligible only as a representative of their association of record.
- IMPORTANT: Once a member receives the Regional Client Service Professional of the Year Award they may not apply for that same regional award for three calendar years. Previous international winners are not eligible to compete for the same award.
Judging Criteria
Judging is based on typed submissions from the candidates. Complete answers are required for each question/award criteria. All activities and other information submitted by the candidate on the application form must have occurred during the applicant’s time as an IAIP member.The categories of consideration include:
- IAIP Involvement
- Education
- Employment History – client service or supportexperience in a present professional capacity
- Essay
Submission Instructions
- Send the completed application via email to the regional vice president by the end of business day on November 15. (Deadlines are strictly enforced.)
- Only electronic submissions will be accepted.
- Applications must be completed in their entirety; if it does not apply or there is no information available for that section state: N/A.
- Only typed submissions will be considered. Hand-written applications will not be reviewed for award consideration.
- If necessary, attach typed supplemental sheets to detail information required.
- The regional vice president is responsible for confirming the eligibility of the nominee, the length of the essay, and that all information is included within the application or on the supplemental attachments.
Regional Judging Process
Award applications are first reviewed at the Regional level. The regional vice president does the following:
- Appoints a committee of three insurance professionalswho are not IAIP members to evaluate the candidates and select the winner of the regional award.This committee judges the following award categories: Insurance Professional, Claims, Client Service, Risk Management and Professional Underwriter.
- Sends the Activity Summary Form and essay from each candidate to each judge, with a scoring sheet.
- Specifies the date by which the judges must return the forms to the regional vice president.
- The judges score the Activity Summary Forms and essays as indicated on the scoring sheet. The regional vice president verifies the addition of the point totals for each candidate.
- If a tie occurs, the highest “IAIP involvement” points are used to determine the winner.
- Each regional vice president submits the completed and signed application to the president-elect for the regional award winner. This information should be sent as soon as possible after the winner is selected. It must be received no later than end of business day on January 15.
- IMPORTANT: Under no circumstance should the completed judge’s forms ever be shown or given to the contestants or any other member. The judges’ forms must be destroyed immediately after the winner is determined.
International Judging Process
- The regional winners compete for the international award.
- The president-elect appoints a committee of three insurance professionals, who are not IAIP members, to judge the entries and select the international winner.This committee judges the following award categories: Insurance Professional, Claims, Client Service, Risk Management and Professional Underwriter.
