Purpose

Join the MQIS QRO Support Team, a group of talented quality engineering professionals with broad accountabilities critical to the deployment, usage, and productivity of General Mills' Manufacturing and Quality Information System (MQIS).

About MQIS

MQIS is a proprietary, General Mills developed suite of computer applications based on Oracle and .NET technologies. MQIS is used to store and report data pertaining to product quality and manufacturing proficiency within General Mills. MQIS applications are designed to help collect, compile, and present information to be used to enhance productivity and improve product quality at GMI plants.

Relationships

This position reports directly to the US Team Manager.

Due to travel and wide interactions worldwide, this person has the opportunity to grow into a Team Leader in due course.

Hours of Operation will be flexible to meet project needs (travel requirements and interactions with U.S. and International plant locations); however, normal hours will overlap with the U.S. and IDC MQIS Staff.

In performing these accountabilities, the incumbent must develop and maintain effective working relationships with GMI employees (U.S. and International) and key contract locations in the U.S.

Accountabilities

The successful candidate will contribute to the MQIS (Manufacturing and Quality Information System)team by completing the following responsibilities. The responsibilities will grow in the areas listed below - first learn and support then greater accountability once competency in a subject matter is reached.

Learning existing MQIS functionalities and technologies

Performing International MQIS startups and adding functionalities to existing MQIS locations (onsite and remote support).

Ability to travel internationally. Potential travel locations include, but not limited to Europe, SouthAmerica, China, & Australia

Planning and completing International wellness visits

Serving as a first troubleshooting point of contact for International

Completing basic troubleshooting for International & U.S. MQIS Users as appropriate

Creating and updating documentation for International &U.S. MQIS Users as appropriate

Training and supporting International MQIS users

Serving as a liaison for MQIS International needs with U.S. MQIS team

Assisting the U.S. MQIS QRO team to ensure accurate information is included in PLM product specifications

Gathering data for quality engineering projects

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Engineering/Food Technology, Chemical Engineer, or Industrial Engineering

6 years experience required, 8-10 years preferred?

Ability to travel 35 - 50%, including international travel

International travel experience preferred

Previous manufacturing experience comparable to a Manufacturing Quality Control/Assurance, Sensory Engineer, Raw Material Specialist, or Quality Product Manager

Food / consumer products background preferred

Working knowledge of statistics and quality engineering principles

Knowledge / understanding of database structures

Excel data analysis skills

Unix & PL/SQL skills preferred
