You are expected to check my webpage regularly- daily if necessary.
Assignments and due dates are listed here, as are many useful French links and practice sites. I also link assignments when I can. This helps you keep up if you are absent or on track if you are not very organized.

CLASS EXPECTATIONS / CONDUCT

·  Be respectful of the class, teacher and your fellow students with your words and actions.

·  Attend class and be prepared- bathroom use, personal grooming and getting materials should be attended to before arrival in class.

·  Be attentive- when I am lecturing or another student is talking you are to respect our time and give your full attention to the speaker.

·  Do your work to the best of your ability. “Toujours mon mieux!” at the top of each paper you turn in. (Always my best)

·  Study/practice outside of class****

·  Communicate your needs and ask questions!!!!!!

·  Enjoy your learning experience.

·  Bring your workbook, French notebook with paper, and a writing utensil to every class period.

CLASS RULES

·  No cell phones, tablets or I-Pods unless approved by teacher for academic purposes- just let me know.

·  Please ask for permission to use the computer or print something.

·  Drinks are allowed unless the privilege is abused (litter etc.) GUM CHEWING IS NOT ALLOWED IN CLASS!!!

·  Please do not use Rubik’s Cubes or fidget spinners during class time. If you have a medical condition that necessitates such a device, please speak with me privately.

·  All handbook rules apply in class.

Please note: seating charts are subject to change at any time!!

ASSIGMENT INFORMATION

·  Many assignments will be done in class.

·  Plagiarism will result in a grade of ZERO and need to be redone.

·  I may give pop quizzes at any time.

·  We will review before exams.

·  Do your homework! It helps! It may not be taken for a grade in the grade book, but whether it is done may be recorded

GRADING

Grades are on a total point percentage scale. Your grade is determined based on points earned for each assignment, divided by the total number of points possible. Approximate grade values are as follows (although subject to change):

·  Homework , text work, vocabulary (not always a numerical grade) 10-20 points

·  Written exercises (depending on complexity) 20-30 points

·  Quizzes up to 30 points

·  Tests- vocabulary and grammar 40-65 points

·  Oral exercises 20-30 points

·  Projects (as assigned) 30-100 points

LATE WORK POLICY

You are expected to turn in your work when it is due. My website will help you keep track of due dates. If we correct work in class that you have not yet done, you will be moved to another location. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KNOWING WHEN WORK IS DUE OR WHEN 5 DAYS ARE UP AFTER AN ABSENCE!

If you are absent on a Monday but knew of a scheduled test/quiz and that quiz or test is any other day of that week, you are expected to take the quiz/test on the date scheduled. Please check the website!

·  1 day late= 80% of earned score

·  2 days late or more= 50% of earned score

·  Any work NOT made up by the 5th day after an absence will be taken at 50% of earned score

If you have extenuating circumstances, please tell me as soon as possible and I will work with you!

I have an open door policy! If you have any suggestions, concerns or praise about the class or anything else, please let me know. I am here to make your learning experience a good one and I need your feedback in order to do so. If you have any accommodations you would like me to address, please tell me at your convenience and in confidence if you wish.

Tutoring is available after school unless I have a conflict. Please let me know in advance when you would like to come in for extra help I have tennis on Tuesday and Thursday through October so I will not be available at that time for tutoring.
