Dear Parents,

The year is coming to an end and I wanted to take the time to express my gratitude to the team behind Wardours continuing success.

This year has had its many challenges including the Department of Education issuing new initiatives on what seemed a daily basis. The educational landscape has been in constant flux and as a result has changed dramatically, so it is a credit to all the staff that Wardour met them head on and ensured that we continued to provide the very best education for our children.

There is always a body of people behind any successful school and those people are our Governors. I would like to not only acknowledge their hard work that they put in behind the scenes but also to thank them publically. They give their time freely without financial reward and without their commitment, passion and drive Wardour would not be as successful as it is today.

As a measure of our success I am delighted to now be able to share our KS2 results with you.

·  Nationally 53% of pupils met the new expected standard in combined reading, writing and mathematics (Wardour 100%)

·  Nationally 66% of pupils met the new expected standard in reading (Wardour 100%)

·  Nationally 74% of pupils met the new expected standard in the assessment of writing (Wardour 100%)

·  Nationally 70% of pupils met the new expected standard in mathematics (Wardour 100%)

·  Nationally 72% of pupils met the new expected standard in grammar, punctuation and spelling (Wardour 100%)

The numbers I feel speak for themselves. Congratulations to Mrs Dixon on ensuring our children were ready to take on the challenges that the papers presented and for steering our children through their KS2 SATs so successfully.

Our other results are strong and I am waiting for the LEA and DfE to release the National results before commenting on them.

Wardour is in a very strong position at the moment and this in part is also due to the shared vision and passion that we have as a whole school community, long may it continue.

Have a great Summer and I look forward to welcoming you back in September. Thank you for your continued support.
