Energy Projects Officer – 12 month Fixed Term Contract

(Hosted at Homes in Sedgemoor – Working in the Sydenham area)

Responsible to:

Allison Cawley – Being Greener Manager

Purpose:

The Project Officer will be hosted in Homes in Sedgemoor and work with circa 400 homes in the Sydenham area to maximise their energy savings. Those households not wishing to fully engage will all receive the relevant information to assist them with saving money. The approach will not be solely related to energy savings.

Main responsibilities:

·  To visit each resident and survey the house to ascertain how they use energy and go through tips on how to save energy by changing behaviour.

·  To support residents to look at energy companies to compare energy providers and see if switching provider could save them money.

·  To carry out a financial audit on each household to ensure all benefits are being claimed and to maximise income.

·  To discuss Smart meters with each resident and support them in signing up to having a smart meter installed.

·  To deliver a holistic referral approach toward:

•  Employment and training needs

•  Financial – income maximisation

•  Digital – get them digitally included, will be utilized.

·  To ensure that all Being-greener behaviour change project activities are delivered and applied in accordance with the Being-greener behaviour change strategy and ensure all KPI’s are met as agreed within the Manager.

·  To support and develop new initiatives and identify opportunities that will assist with adding value to the project.

·  To support and develop video case studies with targeted households that will provide data and evidence that will highlight the journey those engaging have travelled.

·  To report to the Manager any potential customers for good news stories or case studies that supports projects performance / future funding opportunities.

·  To arrange appointments to train Green Energy Champions (GEC) with behaviour change sessions with those who have expressed an interest.

·  To identify and arrange Junior Green Energy Champion training with schools

connected to targeted area and where required support training of those involved

·  Any other duties determined by the Senior Management Team of Being Greener

Education, Training and Experience
·  Experience of working with Communities either as a member of staff or volunteer / E
·  Knowledge of preparation and delivery of monitoring reports. / E
·  Ability to use IT and spreadsheets including Microsoft Office applications. / E
·  Knowledge of social media packages such as Twitter / Facebook / E
·  Experience of project/outcome monitoring and performance / E
·  Experience of providing advice and guidance to the public in the private and rented sector / E
·  Experience of positive liaison with partner organisations and agencies / E
·  Further high/educational qualification relevant to the post / D

·  Hold NEA City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Energy Awareness 6281-01 / D
