Objectives
After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to describe and discuss:
· Abuse, addiction, misuse of controlled substances (CS) and resulting negative sequela to patient and public safety,
· The purpose and impact of the Controlled Substance Monitoring Database (CSMD) on prescribing of CS,
· How providers can effectively partner with CSMD to facilitate responsible and accountable prescribing practices, and
· How TN Chronic Pain Guidelines can be integrated into daily practice to guide use of CS and support evidence-based care.
