River Forest Country Club is a private country club in the near west suburbsof Chicago founded in 1926.Over the years the club has grown into true family destination and has become an integral part of the Elmhurst community.The clubhouse has undergone an extensivemulti-million dollar interior renovation that was completed June of 2006 and is well positioned for continued growth. Future projects will include a complete pool and tennis renovation as well as golf course enhancements.The club has a total membership of approximately 400families with gross revenues of $5 million dollars. Food and beverage revenues total $1.5 million dollars.

Facilities on the 144-acre property include an 18-hole golf course with attached practice facility, as well as a highly utilized swimming pool, and tennis facility. We provide a variety of dining experiences to our membership from casual to fine dining. Dining facilities include a Casual Mixed Grill, a Formal Bar,Men’s and Women’s lounges, banquet facilities for over 350 people, as well as a seasonal pool snack bar and halfway house. The club is open six days per week, ten months per year and is active year round.

We are seeking an energetic individual with excellent service and training experience to assist with the management of the day-to-day operations of the clubhouse and food and beverage operations. The Assistant Club Manager reports directly to the General Manager and will work in concert with the Executive Chef, Controller and various support personnel.He or she will havedirect supervision of all Food & Beverage service staff as well as the summer Pool staff.

The ideal Candidate will:

  • Recognize Member Satisfaction as the top priority of the Club
  • Oversee the day to operation of the food and beverage outlets.
  • Hire, supervise, train and evaluate the Food & Beverage staff.
  • Schedule staff for all areas while adhering to all budgetary guidelines.
  • Have extensive knowledge of wines and spirits.
  • Proactively develop creative food and beverage programs with an emphasis on wines and spirits.
  • Develop and maintain proper service training programs for all employees
  • Assist with the planning and supervision of all club special events.
  • Have excellent communication skills both oral and verbal.
  • Be “hands on” in their management style
  • Be knowledgeable in POS systems
  • Be detail oriented and have strong follow-up skills
  • Have excellent organization and time management skills

The Assistant Club Manager will have the opportunity to develop and improve member services and to be a part of a progressive goal oriented management team. We would prefer a candidate with minimum three to five years experience in a private club environment or high-end hotel or restaurant. Experience with a la carte and banquet operations and special events is desired. This position is available immediately.
