Brief on "Subsidy for Comprehensive Social Security Assistance Recipients

Living in Rented Private Housing" Programme

Background and Objective

The Community Care Fund (CCF)first launched the assistance programme of “Subsidy for Comprehensive Social Security Assistance Recipients Living in Rented Private Housing” in October 2011andrelaunched the programme in September 2013, September 2014 and September2015respectively,to provide a one-off subsidy to Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA)householdsliving inrented private housing and paying a rent which exceededthe maximum rentallowance under the CSSAScheme, so as to relieve their financial burden as a result of the periodic increase of rent. Since there was still a sign of periodic rental increase, the CCF now extends the programme to furtheralleviate the financial burden ofthe households concerned.
