THE CHANCELLOR’S FUND

CRITERIA AND APPLICATION TO THE FUND

The Chancellor’s Fund is a bi-annual fund with the aim to support students to help them to achieve their full potential, make the most of new opportunities and improve their employment prospects. The fund may support those who need modest funds of between £100-£1000, who meet the criteria below.

Criteria of awards

·  Training and research

·  Extra-curricular activities, cultural activities, volunteering or sport

·  Priority projects – linked to the University’s strategic plan, including new and innovative start-up projects including where there is an opportunity for social impact

The fund does not cover the following:

·  Tuition fees

·  Accommodation as part of attending University

·  Travel to and from University or to placements which form part of a course of study

·  Equipment or materials required for assessed work [including computers/laptops/tablets]

Terms and conditions

·  Awards will be made at the discretion of the Chancellor’s Fund Disbursement Committee

·  Applications to be submitted via email to

·  Application deadlines will be 30 October and 28 February each year

·  The fund is only open to applications from enrolled students

·  Applications will not be considered without a completed supporting statement

·  PhD students making an application should declare if they are funded by the University, personally or by external sources

·  Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer and will be required to send confirmation in writing of acceptance and agreement to the terms and conditions

·  The recipient must submit a report to the Scholarships Administrator, at on how the award has been spent and the benefits they have received

·  Should the terms and conditions not be met, termination of the scholarship or award is at the discretion of the Chancellor’s Fund Disbursement Committee
