THIRD TERM PROJECT SPANISH 3 MR. POWELL
REQUIRED PROJECT:
VOCABULARY JOURNALS: One journal each week, from Jan. 17 –March 3
You can skip days when there is no school or early out, or do them for extra credit.
(Jan. 16, Feb. 17, Feb. 20, Feb. 22).
Select one Spanish vocabulary word each day from your most recent vocabulary list, and define it. DO NOT use the same word twice, not even in different weeks.
Draw a picture representing the word and write a sentence about the picture.
You can use English for the words you don’t know in Spanish, but use Spanish for the vocabulary word and any other words that you know.
Maximum Possible: 5 per day plus bonus points for exceptional work.
155 points required: 175 points possible (plus bonus) if you do the optional days.
DUE EVERY TUESDAY (Jan. 24-March 7) FOR THE PREVIOUS WEEK.
Journals from the last two weeks of the term will count on 4th term grades.
EXTRA CREDIT PROJECTS:
1. SHOW AND TELL Bring a favorite inanimate object (or picture[s] if you are describing a plant, animal, or person). Tell the class about it (in Spanish of course) for 3-4 minutes. Then answer three questions (in Spanish) about your presentation. (Instructions and scoring rubric are on a separate handout.)
This will be performed in class during the last week of February.
MAXIMUM of 60 points possible.
2. VIDEO Make a video with a few students acting out a skit in Spanish
(like a short play). It should be funny or entertaining, but “G” rated. Each student will be scored individually. The amount of points possible depends on the quantity and quality of each student’s participation; it could be up to 60 points per student.

Due March 3.
3. “LA GRAN AVENTURA DE ALEJANDRO” - Read up to five chapters and
answer the questions in sections A, B, & C for each chapter.
If you already did some chapters earlier, pick up where you left off.
Chapters must be done in order.
Mr. Powell has copies available for checkout.
Maximum points possible: 20-25 per chapter.
Due March 3. NO CREDIT WILL BE GIVEN AFTER March 3!
