Dear Common School Community,
We are writing to update you on the interim head search process.
The Board of Trustees has identified a search task force that will be responsible for initial review of any resumes and cover letters received for the interim position. This task force is comprised of Andrew Poe, Renae Brodie and Devon Kelting. Based on all of the input received from the community,the qualifications that will be used to screen any potential candidates have also been identified (see attached document). In light of these criteria, the task force will examine each candidate individually. If it is determined that potential candidates meet the qualifications, and have a strong interest in the position, then that individual will be invited to campus for interviews with school leadership, as well asa series of small groups (3-4 people). These small interview groups will include a self-selected and representative group of faculty, the chairs and representatives of the Diversity Committee,as well as representatives of the board. The search task force will be in communication with these groups regarding the schedule for upcoming interviews.
In addition, we are seeking participants for two groups of current parents and caregivers. We desire to create groups of parents and caregivers to be as representative of our community as possible. If you would like to participate in one of the parent/caregiver interview groups,or would like to submit questions you would want to have asked during those interviews,please email Andrew Poe at . Andy Poe will be in communication with the selected parent groups regarding the schedule for upcoming interviews.
As per The Common School by-laws, the Board of Trustees will consider all the information available and make the final decision about any potential candidate. In order to allow for a smooth transition for the school and the community we are working to have a decision made by the end of April. We notify the community as soon as that final decision has been made.
