Sealed bids to ESTABLISH A PRICE for labor costs for maintenance and repair of Refrigerated Compressor Units according to the attached specifications (also available at the City Clerk’s Office) for the City of Southgate, will be received at the Office of the City Clerk, in the Norma J. Wurmlinger Municipal Building (City Hall), 14400 Dix-Toledo Highway, Southgate, Michigan 48195.

Proposal and Specifications: Refrigerated Compressor Units Maintenance & Repair
- Instructions to Bidders -
The intent of this specification is to establish unit prices for labor costs (per hour) for maintenance & repair of Refrigerated Compressor Units for a period of one (1) year.
· The bidder shall become familiar with the specifications.
· Complete proposals shall be submitted on the furnished form(s).
· Each bidder shall sign the proposal giving their name, address and status.
· All bids are to remain firm for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of the bid. No proposals shall be withdrawn within this period.
· The city reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids; also, to waive formal defects in bids should it deem it for the best interest of the city. Unsolicited alternates shall be considered informal and may be cause for rejection of the bid.

Scope of Work
· The contractor will examine, clean, lubricate and calibrate the cooling units (16 total) in the following locations: Civic Center Annex, Civic Center Concession Stand and Golf Course Clubhouse. This will be done twice per year, half of the units each time.
· The contractor will provide all labor and equipment necessary to perform the work required.
· The contractor must run the system at the time of system maintenance.
· For equipment under warranty, charge back and coordination will be with the “installing contractor”.
· For emergency calls, the contractor will be required to schedule a serviceman within two (2) hours and be on the job in four (4) hours.
· The contractor must provide his own Liability and Workmen’s Compensation Insurance.
· Any major replacement of parts or units must be approved by the city prior to installation.
· After the award of the bid, the contractor must submit, to the Department of Public Services, a schedule outlining when various units will be serviced.
· Upon completion of service, a report must be submitted detailing the condition of each unit with an explanation of the maintenance procedures.
· The contract shall provide a cancellation clause upon a thirty-day (30) notice by either party.
