A LOOK IN THE MIRROR
When you look in the mirror, who do you see? Do you see a child of God? Do you look for imperfections or the perfection that God has created? I don’t know about you, but when I look in the mirror, I wonder when my mom moved in and why she is standing in front of my mirror. I stand there and wonder why my hair is standing up in the back like “Alfalfa’s “hair always did. Why do I have so many gray hairs? Why are there circles under my eyes? Oh No! Another age spot. Do you undervalue your self-worth by over focusing on your flaws? In 1 Peter 3:3-4 it says, “Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hair-styles, expensive jewelry or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is so precious to God.” It’s not the outer beauty that God sees. It’s our inner beauty. You can change lives by living the life God gave you by showing your inner beauty. When you love as God has loved us and when you forgive like God has forgiven us, you are looking in the mirror and seeing the image God has created in us. Men, you have inner beauty and outer beauty, the same as women. You look in the mirror too! “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” 1Corinthians 6:19-20.
The next time you look in the mirror take an inventory. Do you see God” do you see all the goodness and beauty He wants you to see? Remember, you were created in His Image.

Reflections from the Lay Director of WW #68
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose - Romans 8:28
What a blessing it was to have been able to serve and witness Our Lord in Savior, Jesus Christ in a new capacity!! It was a God-mazing experience!!
First, God created a live-in team of people who love Him and who have experienced tragedy, laughter, struggles, love, grace, obstacles, laughter, disappointment, heartache, miracles and a lot more laughter. Then He added in a very loving, caring, dedicated, talented and compassionate live-out team. He called each and every one of us according to His purpose. The purpose of sharing His love and grace with each one of the pilgrims that He hand-picked. He brought the pilgrims who needed to hear our tragedies, our laughter, our struggles, His love, His grace, our obstacles, our laughter, our disappointments, our heartaches, His miracles and a lot more of our laughter.
God took each person’s good and bad experiences and put them all together in a mighty way so that He would be glorified!! Thank you God for the God-mazing experience!!! Your blessed and humbled servant – Sherri Herring

Reflections from the Lay Director of MW #64
Dear Emmaus Board and Community,
I would like to express my feelings as the Lay Director for the Men’s Walk #64.
I was really excited when I was asked to be the Lay Director for this walk, and even though I had a little difficulty getting the team together I kept praying and turned it over to the Lord. After all it was His team I was putting together not mine. And what a team I had, from the ALD’s who kept telling me to let them worry about the details to the TL’s, ATL and logs. What a team! When it came time for the walk took over, I just sat back and watched and was Blessed.
The pilgrims were amazing; they were like sponges soaking everything up. When it came time for breaks they would leave for a little bit then they would come back to their tables to discuss things further. There were times we had to chase them out.
It’s amazing to be able to sit at the Table of Grace and watch how God was working in each of their lives. Yes, I know they were Blessed in a special way but I really believe that we as a team are Blessed more.
Therefore, anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun. 2 Corinthians 5:17
When I picked this scripture, little did I know the true meaning of it, we are truly a new person in Christ with a new life. Again I would like to thank the Board for asking me to be the Lay Director for MW#64, but I would like to also thank God’s Team for helping everything go the way He wanted it to.

Chrysalis is known to many as the “youth” version of the Walk to Emmaus. Like Emmaus instead of being what is called pilgrims young men and women are transformed into beautiful butterflies over the course of three days. Chrysalis weekends are held four times a year here in Piqua, Ohio twice in the summer and twice in the winter. If you know anyone who you might be interested in sponsoring, please feel free to contact Ashley Tuco at and I would be happy to get you an application. Just a reminder also our candlelight’s for winter weekends are held on Sunday Nights at 8:30 and closing is on Monday at 5:30. Also if you would be interested in serving behind the scenes such as the kitchen we are also looking for extra hands to help! Feel free to contact Heidi Ranard at Looking ahead to summer the dates for West Ohio Girls Chrysalis #62 is July 8-10th and Boys #62 July 29-31st.
On an Emmaus Weekend, agape is first introduced to the pilgrims on Friday during the Justifying Grace talk. Team members begin receiving agape on Thursday evening at bed time. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, ARE THE PILGRIMS TO RECEIVE ANY PERSONAL/INDIVIDUAL AGAPE ON THEIR BEDS ANY NIGHT OR AT TABLE DURING MEALS. The pilgrims begin receiving bed time agape Friday night and EVERYONE receives the SAME thing.
NO MEGA AGAPE FOR TEAM OR PILGRIMS!!!!!!
All of the pilgrims agape for Sunday must fit into a 12 ½ x 15 ½ envelope. (This is why it is important there be NO mega agape). Team agape goes in a lunch bag every day. (This is why it is important there be NO Mega agape). Please if you want to give them mega agape the perfect time is when they get home from their walk, this would be a good time for you to be able to talk with them about the walk!! Thank you!!!
