Teachable Moments

For the Younger set, Home is a Great Place to Learn this Summer

·  Read to your child and have your child read to you. Encourage your child to read daily.

·  Visit the library often and get a card for your child. Take part in story hours at the library.

·  Keep track of how much TV your child watches. If your child watches more than three hours a day, his/her reading will suffer. Try to schedule a reading night.

·  If your child is attending school, ask what she or he is learning.

·  Write letters and notes to your child.
