SAVIR 2015 National Conference, March 11-13, 2015 New Orleans, LA

The SAVIR Training and Infrastructure Committee (TIC), together with the SAVIR Program Committee of the 5th Biennial National Conference to be held March 11-13,2015 in New Orleans, LA, is soliciting proposals for pre-conference courses. The selected pre-conference courses will be conducted on Wednesday, March 11th morning in concurrent sessions.

The goal of the pre-conference courses is to attract registrants from a number of different injury prevention and safety promotion areas. We want to reach out to potential participants from different background including but not limited to students, practitioners, policymakers, and researchers. Proposal selection will be achieved by committee consensus and will take into account how the courses complement and enhance the scientific program of the SAVIR 2015 National Conference.

A pre-conference course is usually taught by one or more instructors on a topic that is apt for Injury and Violence Prevention research and of interest to many potential SAVIR National conference participants. The pre-conference course can last a half-day (maximum 4 hours).

Proposals should include motivation, proposed content(s), objectives and competencies, and potential target audience of the course, as well as a Faculty(s) details. Selection for SAVIR pre-conference courses will consider the clarity of the abstract, experience of the session proposers, relevance to the conference theme, how the courses complement and enhance the scientific program of the SAVIR 2015 National Conference, and adherence to the Submission Guidelines.

All proposals for pre-conference courses must be received electronically no later than September 3, 2014. The Program/TIC Committee will notify individuals regarding the status of their proposals by mid-October 2014.
