SCT supported housing

SCT Supported Housing Projects are for any who is serious about achieving their goals in life and would like to do something positive and constructive to deal with their problems.

SCT will provide support and assistance to residents who are committed to maintaining abstinence from drugs and alcohol. As a result we can only offer support to those who we feel can benefit from a service of this nature.

If your client wants to make a real change towards independent living, motivation and self-confidence, SCT Supported Housing Projects would give you the tools and to progress.

We have five supported housing projects located in the London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Lewisham, Harrow and Enfield. All our Supported Housing Projects are Post-treatment Abstinence Based Support Housing.

Expectations

All our Supported Housing Projects are abstinence based, so whilst in residence residents must not use alcohol or any drug that has not been prescribed. Clients are expected to actively participate, co-operate and apply themselves to the set of programmes outlined for them.

All our projects are friendly and staff will seek to provide every resident with all their support needs in a way that is fair and equitable, with all necessary steps taken to address the needs of minority and disadvantage groups.

All our supported housing projects have individual rooms with communal kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room and living areas

Referral

Service users will not be able to self-refer into the project. All referrals must be made by third-party professionals. Referrals can be from different sources such as:

  • rehabilitation projects
  • social services
  • probation or prison
  • statutory or voluntary agencies

The initial enquiry is generally made by telephone or email. On receipt of their enquiry, details of the person making the enquiry and the prospective resident are taken and this is kept in our referral file.

A referral form is immediately faxed, emailed or posted to the person making the enquiry, which they should complete and return by fax, email or post.

On receipt of the completed application form, the Manager or a Senior Worker makes the initial consideration as to the suitability of the prospective resident.

If the applicant is suitable, one of our Assessors mentioned above would make contact with the person enquiring and an interview would be arranged.

Prospective residents are expected to be sober on the interview date otherwise the interview would have to be cancelled.

Overview of services offered

The aim of the project is to provide you with a safe environment in which you can access the services you need and make your own choices. The staff will be available to support you through formal ‘one-to-one’ keyworker sessions and informal day-to-day contact. They will work with you whatever your background or your situation. • Service users will be offered keyworker support appointments on a regular basis.
  • Support plan reviews will be undertaken at least every 3 months. Needs assessment reviews will be undertaken at least every 3 months or when the service user’s support needs change.
  • Service users will be supported to participate in the decision making of the project.
  • Service users will be supported and encouraged to participate in the local community.
  • Service users will be supported and encouraged to participate in training and voluntary work opportunities within S.C.T. (N.H.P. ‘your time’, charity shops, coffee shop)
