CarShare Scheme

Are you aware we have a Boots car-share scheme, available to all colleagues across the Beeston and Feltham sites, in Support Office, Logistics and Boots Manufacturing.

Why should I share my journey?

Travelling in a pair or a group can often be more fun and better for individuals, the community and the environment. There are several reasons for this:

  • It can save you money
  • It can reduce pollution from car emissions
  • It gives you company
  • It can reduce local congestion
  • It can save you time
  • Sharing a walking or cycling journey can motivate you to do some exercise
  • It can be safer (eg. having company if you breakdown)
  • You can make new friends and meet your neighbours
  • It can reduce the use of limited fossil fuels
  • Not only is the scheme for those that drive to work, it’s also for those that cycle, walk or take a taxi via the BUDi schemes on the car-share website

The car-share website is and it is free to register for all Boots employees. It allows you to find someone to share your journey to work with, and capitalise on some or all of the benefits outlined above.

Guidelines for car-share scheme

Use your Boots e-mail address (if you have one) to join the scheme so that you join the Boots private group. If you don't have a Boots email address, you can enter the Group password which is carbootsshare, in lower case letters. You will then receive emails to update you on any Boots travel matches with your colleagues.

Beeston Campus – visitor and authorised vehicles

For safety, security and traffic management on the Beeston site, Boots operates an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system. The ANPR system allows you to access the Beeston site without delay, through the automatic barriers.

For your safety and the safety of people working on the site, all visitors must enter and exit the site via the Thane Road Visitor Lane (SAT NAV NG7 2TG).

Anyone using or working on the site is required to register their vehicle/s. Failure to register will lead to thembeing denied access to the site. You can register via the ANPR information section of the website (in Arrival Zone section)or pick up a form from your reception area. Once completed, please return it to reception or post to: FMSolutions, Vehicle Registration ANPR, D90 EF5.

Make sure that your information is up to date. Have you moved desk, had a new manager or even a new car? Be sure to tell us; you never know when this information could help us to help you.

Since the ANPR system was installed we have helped dozens of people with vehicle issues. Lights left on, windows left open, flat tyres and even the boot left up!
Site Safety Rules
Your safety on site is really important to us and therefore we ask that all employees respect the guidance we have in place.
Site use
Drivers: as well as following the Highway Code you are expected to drive carefully, showing due respect to all other road usersincluding cyclists and pedestrians. Follow our clearly marked speed limits, which are 20mph on roads and 10mph in the car parks at all times. When parking, only park in a defined car parking space. If your nearest car park is full, use another car park.

Cyclists: in certain parts of the site, we have clearly marked cycle lanes for your use. They are there for your safety in areas of particularly dense traffic so please ensure you use them. For your own safety you must use lights if you intend to ride your bike when it is dark. Please follow the Highway Code as it applies to you.

Pedestrians; we have clearly marked paths, crossings and routes across all key parts of our site which you must use. They exist to guide you safely across one of the busiest commercial sites in the country. For the same reason we have areas where pedestrians are not allowed such as lorry manoeuvring areas around warehouses and factories.

•If you are caught:

•speeding,

•parking in an unauthorised place,

•driving in an unsafe manner, without due care and attention,

•if cycling, not using a cycle lane where one is provided or having no or inadequate lights on your bike,

•as a pedestrian, walking through areas where pedestrian access is barred or...

•breaking any other site regulation, you will face appropriate disciplinary action which could include dismissal if the offence is sufficiently serious.

Don’t forget - 199

The emergency on site number is 199. Why not put it in your mobile as 0115 9595999.

If you need us urgently when you are out and about around site or if you have an accident or feel unsafe, you will have the number to hand.

One of our other roles during an emergency is often to inform and then wait for the emergency services to arrive on site.

We then use our site knowledge and experience to escort the emergency services to the incident via the quickest and safest route.
