PAMS Heritage Celebration 2017

Celebrating 150 Years

PAMS will celebrate Heritage day 2017 on February 14th with workshops,

New Brunswick sweet treats and a student Heritage Fair.

Heritage Workshops

Students will attend 20 minute workshops on a variety of topics relating to local heritage including trapping, farming, Scottish and First Nations culture. These will be delivered by community volunteers.

Maple Syrup Celebration

For morning snack, students will be treated to pancakes and Maple Syrup made in our community. Yum!

PAMS Heritage Fair

Our 2017 Heritage Fair will be held in the gym in the afternoon. Students and parents are invited to visit exhibits beginning at 1pm. School winners will be announced at the end of the day. Students who want to be considered to represent PAMS at the regional fair in May should see their social studies teacher for judging rubric and specific criteria for awards or visit

Heritage Fair Theme…

v  This year’s Heritage Fair theme is “Celebrating 150 years/ Célébrons 150 ans”. It provides an opportunity for students to learn about New Brunswick’s history and it’s contribution to Canada over the past 150 years. The history New Brunswick’s many events, attractions, natural sites, employers and industries all make interesting project topics. Students may also want research about the role New Brunswick’s played in Confederation or the contribution people from New Brunswick have made to Canada.

Social studies and language arts teachers are available to give students guidance as they create their project. Many classes are completing social studies projects that share the Canada 150 theme may be entered in the Heritage Fair. These class projects are due on Friday, February 10th.
