Community Fundraiser PT 25 hours per week

Salary £22,000 - £25,000 pro rata

Will require occasional weekend and evening work

Key responsibilities: to make the best use of time to raise money from the community, working alongside the Fundraiser

MAIN DUTIES

·  Identifying, researching and forming new fundraising groups in the community

·  Supporting volunteer fundraisers

·  Being a key contact for community fundraising enquiries to the fundraising office including responding to telephone calls, emails and letters; collation and sending of information packs to potential and current supporters when necessary; and to advise the general public on queries relating to fundraising.

·  Providing a high standard of donor care to community fundraisers, for example:

o  Service clubs e.g. Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, Freemasons

o  Clubs and associations e.g. WI’s, Guides and other local groups

o  Educational organisations e.g. schools, universities

·  Utilising a range of fundraising techniques to encourage and motivate community and corporate fundraisers to maximise their fundraising potential.

·  Briefing and supporting ambassadors who give talks and presentations.

·  Assisting in writing and preparing compelling copy to include in newsletters, designing posters, website listings etc.

·  Preparing interesting and regular social media postings for Facebook and Twitter in particular.

·  Updating the website as appropriate

·  Assisting in the efficient organisation and running of fundraising events (this will include occasional evening and weekend working).

·  Maintaining basic office procedures: filing, keeping up stock levels of fundraising materials and leaflets, liaising with colleagues to ensure stationery requirements and updating display boards, etc, and establishing new systems as appropriate

·  Cash handling – counting and recording cash donations.

·  Assisting the Finance Officer with banking when needed.

·  Keeping track of fundraising equipment, ensuring that it is returned promptly after events, checked and put away

·  Maintaining the Donor Strategy database, updating when necessary

·  Working with the Campaign Monitor e-mail marketing system

·  Administering effective processes to support relationship management

·  Managing charity collection box activity within the community and local businesses.

ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS

·  Experience of community fundraising and working with volunteers

·  Experience in marketing and public relations undertakings that will assist with promotion of new fundraising initiatives, e.g. designing posters, preparation of press releases, writing interesting copy

·  Ability to proficiently use industry standard IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, Email, Internet, etc)

·  Proficiency in use of social media – Facebook and Twitter mainly

·  Ability to work using own initiative

·  Ability to accurately draft and appropriately layout routine letters and documents
