Principal Purpose of Job: / To develop a retail business for Cornwall Mobility
Overall Job: / To develop our retail business through:
- taking a continuous improvement approach as to how our retail business could be vigorously developed
- growing revenue streams significantly
- challenging current preconceptions
- working with the Chief Executive tomaximise Return on Investment

Principal Outputs: / For Existing Business and Future Growth Projection
- Deliver on existing retail sales targets
- Work with business analyst and colleagues across the Centre to effect a retail-suitable computer system
- Consider current proposals for Centre reconfiguration and agree with Chief Executive what can and cannot be done
- Reconfigure showroom to maximise sales advantage through lifting its look and visual appeal
- Develop effective merchandising strategies
- Design new ways of working to meet market expectation, in particular through making the shopping experience for individuals with a disability interesting and attractive
- Lead and motivate team including the Occupational Therapist and Workshops to buy in to new ways of working
- Consider staffing/resource requirements and needs and develop business case for future demands
- Inspire team creativity in merchandising and display
- Train staff in such a way as to maximise effective use of available resource to service clients
- Organise showroom cover arrangements, including incoming calls, to best effect
- Build a business case for significant growth in retail sales
- Identify investment needs and work up Return of Investment case(s)
- Evaluate and recommend a course of action relating to the development of alternative outlets and approaches
- Get case agreed by CEO/Board and move to implementation
Probationary Period: / The first three months in post will be regarded as a probationary period during which time the post holder’s suitability for the position will be assessed.
